The National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. is a charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of families through the arts, culture, health and human services programs that we provide for the community.

We are actively recruiting women for membership. There will be a monthly meeting if you would like to join us or just come out to ask questions about our organization. This will take place in the West Las Vegas library located at 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd. The meetings are from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. We meet in the conference rooms. If you have questions, please call.

More About The Las Vegas Chapter of The NHBW

We are a nonprofit, community service organization that provide services to the community for the betterment of families of African American Women. We do this through workshops, forums and different community activities. Some of the topics we address are breast cancer prevention, domestic violence prevention, prostrate cancer prevention, AIDS/HIV awareness, and teen pregnancy.

Jr Hook-up is one of our special project areas in which we work with girls ages 13-18 to mentor them and introduce them to community service. Young girls interested may contact us.

In order to provide most of these services, we look in the community to see what is available already and try to get the information that the services are there by hooking up with them to provide programs.

Our Annual convention will take place next year, (2009) here in Las Vegas and we will have approximately 250 women from across the country here to meet. It will be held at the Hilton casino, April 30th to May 3rd. We will be having a Fannie Lou Hamer Breakfast in honor of one of NHBW's "Sheroes" on May 2nd. Ticket donations will be $35. We are inviting all of the pastors and spouses in the area as well as the general public is welcome to attend.
